Fashion Merchandising Concentration

The Fashion Merchandising Concentration curriculum equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to become leaders in the dynamic and ever-evolving fashion world. Our program combines theoretical and practical learning to prepare students for a wide range of career opportunities in this global industry.

Fashion Merchandising Goals:

  • Students will apply knowledge of fashion design and production processes.
  • Students will apply skills to fashion merchandising and retail management.
  • Students will apply historical and contemporary knowledge to address issues and trends within the fashion industry.
  • Students will apply innovative thinking and technological competencies within the fashion industry.

  •  Identify and evaluate design elements and trends from key eras of fashion history 
  • Employ concepts of fashion merchandising, retail management, retail buying, special events and promotions, visual merchandising, and image/fashion consulting
  • Examine concepts related to the cultural, social, and psychological aspects of textiles, dress and appearance
