Docent - A knowledgeable guide who assists visitors at a museum. 

The Kentucky Museum is seeking WKU student docents for the fall semester starting the week of August 19th through Friday, December 6, 2024

  • The Kentucky Museum is open Wednesday-Saturday 9 AM - 4 PM.
  • $10 an hour. Total hours per week vary based on number of docents. 
  • Specifically, we are looking for students with fall class schedules that have availability to work Wednesdays  between 12-2:30PM or Thursdays between the hours of 9AM-12PM and/or 12-4PM and rotating Saturdays 9AM-4PM with a 30 minute unpaid lunch. Also, students work occasional evening events, such as exhibit openings, special programs, etc.
  • The position requires students to memorize scripts, interact with guests, help with tours, provide gallery security, and more.

  • Applicants should be an outstanding student, have good communication skills, and ability to work with people.

*These student docent positions are available to enrolled WKU students only. If one is not a current WKU student, or an enrolled incoming freshman WKU student with a fall class schedule, cannot be considered for this position.
