Aerospace Engineering Pathway

Physics and Aerospace Engineering -- your ticket to the stars!

 

Pending approval by our accreditation agency, the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities, we plan to offer a pathway for students to receive a BS in Physics from WKU and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) beginning in Fall 2024.

Students in our 3-2 dual degree pathway in Physics/Aerospace Engineering will spend 3 years at WKU completing their core Physics requirements and core Engineering courses and 2 years at UA completing upper division Aerospace Engineering requirements.

After 5 years students will graduate with a BS in Physics from WKU and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Alabama.

This degree combination will position graduates for jobs across the aerospace industry and provide them value-added qualifications that will distinguish them from graduates with a single BS degree.

 

 

Students entering WKU who wish to follow this pathway, but who are placed in Math 116 (College Algebra) or Math 117 (Trigonometry), will need additional semesters to progress through the pathway. The degree plan a student will follow at WKU will vary depending on what AP and/or dual credit the student has upon entering the pathway, and their math placement. We will tailor the WKU degree plan to each student’s specific circumstances. Below we provide sample degree plan.
